Classic, Old Town Bar
Old Town Bar, which first opened its doors in 1892, is one of the oldest and most iconic bars in New York City.
It has appeared in several movies and TV shows over the years — you might recognize it from Sex and the City and Julie & Julia.
With its high ceilings, worn wooden bar, and vintage mirrors, the whole place gives off a wonderfully nostalgic vibe. When we went, it was already packed with people, which just added to the charm.
We dropped by because we wanted to soak in the classic old-school atmosphere. Some people around us had ordered food and were casually sipping drinks. It looked like food orders were delivered from the kitchen via this tiny, super old-school manual dumbwaiter tucked away in the corner — such a cool little detail.
Since we had already eaten beforehand, we decided to just go for cocktails.
What we ordered
-
Old Fashioned
-
Moscow Mule
We ordered these two classic cocktails, and to be honest — they were fine, but nothing memorable. The drinks weren’t bad by any means, just a bit… standard. There wasn’t much that stood out in terms of flavor or presentation.
Final Thoughts : Should we go?
Still, if you’re into vintage bars and that timeless New York charm, it’s definitely worth stopping by at least once.
It’s one of those places where the atmosphere is the main character, not the drinks.
