Find your own cute plates!
I recently visited one of my all-time favorite places in Manhattan — Fish’s Eddy. I’ve been there a few times before, but this time I really wanted to show it to my boyfriend, so we went together. From the outside, the shop isn’t flashy at all — it actually has a bit of a vintage vibe — but once you step inside, it’s like stepping into a treasure trove of cute dishes, quirky mugs, and glassware. It’s one of those places where you can easily spend an hour just browsing.
Our Pick
*Simple pasta plate— nothing fancy, just a clean, minimal design that I know we’ll use for a long time without getting tired of it.
*Huge spoon and fork set — that made us both laugh. I’m not totally sure how practical they are, but they were just too fun to pass up. The only downside? They were a bit pricey — but no regrets.
*Juice glasses — super cute, but not the most practical size. I’m still figuring out how to use them in a way that makes sense, but they do make me smile every time I see them on the shelf.
In the back of the store, there’s a section where they sell slightly imperfect plates and glasses at discounted prices. In a weird way, they make the items feel even more charming.“Not perfect, but are you?” That little phrase totally captured the store’s playful and witty vibe.
Not just a kitchen goods, they also have many pieces of arts. Many of them were drawn and painted on the canvas board, which makes more authentic and vintage vibes. I’d definitely want to hang few of these canvas art on our wall when we have our own house! (sad that we are renting our house😢.
Fish’s Eddy is such a special little spot in the middle of NYC. It’s hard to find places that give you this much character, charm, and humor all in one.
Final Thoughts : Should you go?
Even if you’re not someone who’s really into dishes, I’d still recommend checking it out. And if you’re looking for a fun NYC-themed gift or souvenir, this place has some great options too!
